F-Gas Compliance
BHP helps you comply with the latest F-Gas legal Regulations. Many refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems contain hydrofluorocarbons which are a type of fluorinated greenhouse gas or "F-Gas"
If you are recovering, handling, installing, supplying manufacturing, servicing, maintaining or you own equipment containing HFC refrigerants in stationary equipment, you must become F-Gas qualified and also have the F-Gas certification following EU legislation.
An F-Gas qualification enables air conditioning and refrigeration engineers to meet legal requirements required to work with fluorinated greenhouse gases, known as F-Gases. F-gas regulations are governed by the F-Gas register and DEFRA to help EU countries meet Kyoto protocol targets. Companies that operate or install, service and maintain equipment containing F-Gas must meet certain requirements by law.
Thankfully, BHP are a Refcom Elite F-Gas certified company as well as a member of the governing body, which means we can provide advice and services for everything you need to comply with these ever-changing regulations.
Following an independent third party inspection our air conditioning division can assist you with the following:
- Competently installs, commissions, decommissions or maintains systems containing refrigerant
- Is a licensed waste carrier
- Handles refrigerants safely
- Is compliant with all current legal requirements
- Operates auditable procedures for the proper control of refrigerants and can account for all refrigerant used and recovered
- Uses appropriate, purpose-designed refrigerant recovery equipment
- Performs refrigerant transactions with minimum emissions and is environmentally aware
As part of our ongoing F-Gas Compliance Management, we record the type and quantity of refrigerant in the equipment when it’s installed. We also provide you with a copy of this information to keep for the required period enabling you to make it available to government officials.
